Accommodations

La Cocotera is an El Salvador beachfront hotel set amongst hundreds of coconut palm trees and lush mango trees. The resort was designed and built by Salvadorans using local natural materials such as palm fronds, sustainable teak wood, plant vines, natural stone and hand woven fabrics. In fact, all the wood used in construction derived from sustainable teak plantations. Built and run by locals, La Cocotera is an eco friendly resort where the environment is always a top priority.

Our eco lodge was designed and built with great respect toward the natural environment, landscape and the resident plant and animal life. The planning of the resort involved mapping out how to carefully minimize footprints on the land and structures were purposefully built around various trees. In order to truly commit to an environmentally friendly setting, the resort follows the "green leaf" system guidelines utilized by the Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST).
